Bitcoin enthusiast Landon Cassill made history by becoming the first professional driver to ink an all-crypto NASCAR sponsorship deal. Voyager, an innovative token trading platform, has partnered with the driver for a 19-race stint beginning at the Nashville Speedway.
Cassill Pursued Voyager Sponsorship for Years
After meeting Voyager’s CEO Steve Ehrlich at a crypto conference, Cassill has lobbied the blockchain entrepreneur for a sponsorship. It took two years, but the parties eventually inked a deal. According to Ehrlich, “Landon also shares our vision of widespread crypto adoption, and we’re proud to be the first company to secure a primary NASCAR sponsorship completely with crypto.”
Cassill Secured a Litecoin Portfolio from Voyager
So what does Cassill’s cryptocurrency sponsorship entail? The details aren’t available for public consumption, but we know that Voyager is giving Cassill a crypto portfolio, which includes Litcoin and Bitcoin, that he can trade and invest at will.
During an interview about the deal, Cassill was enthused about his ability to control the portfolio based on market trends. He explained: “I can trade it out right away before the market changes or hang on to it as the market goes up or goes down, carve out a little bit, pay my bills with it and hold the rest.”
Not Cassill’s First Foray into Crypto Trading
This is not Cassill’s first crypto portfolio. The driver has invested in the market for years and made “significant gains.” He hopes his deal with Voyager represents an inflection point for crypto acceptance.
“Crypto platforms use a lot of social media and community building as marketing,” he explained. “The big companies haven’t done a lot of national ad campaigns,” Cassill continued, “so for Voyager to go after a national ad campaign is a sign that the space is really starting to branch out.”
